Dear Daffodil,

You can have the list of suggested reading from the 'study materials' themselves. They are informative and of a great help.

Hi Richa,
Many of my classmates could not clear their final exams of 1st year MEG because they studied only guidebooks and kunjis. I would suggest you read the actual novel/play/poem and refer to the internet for simple explanations. The IGNOU study material is also helpful.
I would not recommend any private guidebooks.

Richa, I did not make any written notes of my own. I just used the study material and the Internet. I've already sold off the reference books and novels/plays that I had purchased. You can buy the relevant books at Ber Sarai or at Lamba Book Depot in Tilak Nagar.
The study material is sometimes difficult to understand. But the stuff available in the market is of very low quality. It won't help you get good marks at all. So I won't recommend anything. You should not wait for the study material to come by post. You should go and pick it up at the RC yourself. That way you can make sure that nothing is missing also. That's what I i did in both years of MEG.

The book is full of questions and answers... dry.gif No topics have been explained. Printing quality is 2/10. paper quality 3/10
Full waste of money

Better to read Varun pablication books, u can find them at nai sarak, delta book store noida. Much better, all topics expalined worth spending money

Hi All...
Those who are doing MEG from IGNOU...there is no shortcut to get good marks. I have cleared MEG 2,3 & 4...Though some reference books are available but you have to keep on mixing both..means your text books(IGNOU) and reference books..Some topics are better explained in IGNOU study material and for some, ref. books are beneficial. I have MEG 2, 3 and 4 reference books. Those who want to buy they can ask me....and If the student is poor, I may give them for free also....

Now coming on to how to prepare for MEG.. If you just want to pass and dont have much time to read then, choose your topics...means like in British Drama, from each block 1 question comes(normally) so if you are thorough with 7-8 blocks also, there is a good chance that you can score around 50-55 marks....If you want to get good marks then naturally you have to read everything...Make notes while preparing..read full text whether its novel, or drama...MEG 4 is easy to score..I got 71 marks in MEG 4....overall 63 till now.....

Regards and best of luck to all MEG aspirants
