Hi..
This is Shaivi. I am a student admitted in july 2009 for MA(EDU) . I haven't received my study material. When and how will I get that? Secondly, I want to change my study center. What is the procedure for that?

Though I have not yet joined M.A. (Education) but I am planning to join soon. I might go over to IGNOU campus this coming Saturday or Monday and I will try to gather information from there regarding your queries. Likewise, you can also call them or send them an e-mail. They are quite prompt in responding to students queries. Hope this helps!....  Finally, I would request you to please be active in this forum and share your experiences or problems regarding M.A. (Education).

This is the information i found in the Ignou website... - There is a printed card for change / correction of address and change of Study Centre which is despatched along with the study material. In case there is any correction / change in the address it to SR&E Division, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi - 110 068.
- There are advised not to write letters to any other officer in the University in this regard. Normally, it takes 4-6 weeks to effect the change. Therefore, the learners are advised to make their own arrangements to redirect the mail to the changed address during this period.
- In case a change of Study Centre is desired, the learners are advised to fill the proforma and address it to the Regional Centre concerned. Counselling facilities are not available for all the Programmes at all the centres. As such, learners are advised to make sure that counselling facilities are available for the subject he / she has chosen, at the new centre opted for.
- Request for change of Study Centres is normally granted subject to availability of seat for the programme at the new centre asked for. Change of Address and Study Centre is not permitted until admissions are finalised.
- There is no provision of change of Programme Study Centre for PGDMCH Programme in any Region. Even if one is in Central Government Service and is transferred, he / she will have to complete the PSC activities at the allotted PSC. But the SDC allotment can be changed and nearest SDC allotted.
- Similarly, change of Study Centre is not permissible in programmes where practical components are involved. For CIC / BCA / MCA students of Delhi Region, Study Centres will be allotted as per availability of seats therefore Study Centre once allotted will be not changed.
I think you can find the application form for change of study center in the prospectus itself. Hope i'm not misguiding you guys..

Few days back, I had a query regarding M.A. (Edu) and I did send them an e-mail. I did get a reply the very next day. So, my earlier statement of their promptness was based on this fact. But, it was sad to know about the experience you had calling them up. I hope things will change...or will it!
One of the senior members of this forum has also shared her input. I hope that will also help.

Shaivi, You were so right. Now, I too had the same experience. Today, since it was not possible for me to go to their main campus at Maidan Garhi (due to my own busy work schedule), I thought of calling them up. But as you had rightly said – NO RESPONSE. Nobody there just cares to pick it up, not even the so-called helpline numbers. Pathetic, to say the least. But I did call up one of the Regional Center here in Delhi. Thankfully, they responded. But again, unfortunately, they too were not equipped with all the information. Anyhow, regarding your change of study center, I guess, first you have to check in their website if MA (Edu) courses are taken up in the study center you want to join. You can check that in this link: http://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/StudyCentre.asp. If yes, then you have to fill the form and mail it. But what I gather, this whole process can take a long time. Change your study if and only if there is no option left. Secondly, regarding your study material. If you have not got them, I suggest that you email your query to mpdd@ignou.ac.in or write a letter and fax them at 011-29535083. At least this way you have a "proof" of your query. If still no response for 10-15 days, click on the RTI Act in the bottom side of their homepage, call the numbers given, or even better, if you send them an email regarding your grievance. Lastly, I would suggest you always communicate with them through e-mail. At least you have a "proof" that you did tell them regarding your problem. All this above really looks bad. I have not yet joined their course, and I am already having a rethinking on it, but nonetheless, I should also resist myself from forming an adverse opinion too soon. I would love to hear from people who are doing M.A. (Edu) from IGNOU and having a good opinion about it. I hope your queries are rightly answered and you become one of those happy IGNOU students!.......

THIS PGME GUIDE WILL COME WITH YOUR FIRST BOOK COLLECTION GIVEN BY THE SC. IF YOU DON'T GET THE BOOKS FM THE SC THEN YOU CAN CONTACT MPDD DEPT OF OGNOU MAIDAN GADHI PHYSICALY. how can i change my study centre (mca)which is delhi now i want to change in m.p. (singrauli). i have send the fulfilled change of address form to maidan garhi .but it couldn't work .plz tell me how can i change my address and study centre.

hi,
the form to change study centre is there in ur prpgramme guide fill it up and send it.but if ur current address doesnot fall under ur Delhi then u need to go for regional centre then fill up the form for change of regional centre.

IGNOU play a vital role in the field of education many peole get master or bachelors degree from here i really enjoyed reading all comments from here,and the most important i want to say that dont think to take admission its a great time to move your step.Thanks for all your efforts in making this forum interesting
